Anemia is a condition in which the blood contains fewer-than-normal healthy red blood cells, resulting in the body not getting enough oxygen-rich blood. The lack of oxygen can cause weakness, fatigue, shortness of breath, dizziness, headaches, or an irregular heartbeat. There are many types of anemia, including: iron-deficiency anemia, vitamin B12-deficiency anemia, and hemolytic anemia.
